DOUBTS - BESATREE
Besatree has released another collection of high quality raps and beats for our perusal.
"tell me i'm wrong, show me the proof / string me along and I'll make you a noose"
I’ve written about most of the Besatree content of the last year and am surprised that this new album has relatively little of those singles collected. It’s really mainly all-new content but what’s even more remarkable is how much he’s rapping his ass off on this. The singles exhibit this restraint – a dude who can rap real well but is not trying to overdo it, leaving listeners wanting more. The wordiness but simultaneous smoothness he slides into on this record is masterful – and he just keeps hitting you with relatable truths about aging in relation to your social connections’ perception of you. The record is cohesive, it feels like one piece and feels like it has continuity with his other projects as well. The tuneful thoughtful bassy beats here (also by Besatree) are wonderful backdrop for these well-written poems.
