LOW HANGING FRUIT EP – D’ZYL 5K1

D’zyl has tackled divorce and breakups and dating as a newly single adult in other recent records but this project is a briefer, more concentrated dose of his emotional journeys on these subjects.

On “Can’t” he talks of paradoxes

can't get over this hump

can't get outta my head

can’t start eatin’ this junk

On “Vibe Killer” he tiptoes back into dating with a fun funky boom-bap cut.

“Losing Interest”, “Ruined” and the poetic indie-guitar infused “Damage Control” are all considered, mournful, melodic and utterly musical meditations on some real adult shit. “Losing Interest” is sung and subtle, “Ruined” is a relatable expression of the paradox of accepting that one is in denial.

For me this is the year that artists I liked learned how to make even their unpleasant emotions into pleasing art with momentum but maybe that says more about where I am in life…either way, check these 5 tracks out, I’ve been playing them a lot.
