SOON ENOUGH (Music Video) – NOTIZ YONG

Updated: Jul 29

Notiz Yong brings many of his powers – rapping, singing, producing, engineering, and more – to the issue of modern racism in the post-societal dystopia we currently find ourselves in.

“My remedy for the longest was in the trees / but now it seems we tune the other side out and fall asleep”

Not only does he deliver a powerful statement of solidarity in the first verse but in the second he explains his own perspective as an American of Asian background in the context of the larger song concept. The raps and rhymes are fierce; the way he balances lyricism, melody, beat and expanding in a novel way on this well-tread ground is truly impressive and appreciated in this moment.

Tristan "Tanjint Wiggy" Acker is a staff writer for Zus Entertainment, a Jooseboxx and Untapped Hip-Hop contributor, and member of the Inland Empire, California based nerdculture hip-hop group the West Coast Avengers
